Both static balance and dynamic balance are the research content of rotor dynamics. The specific differences are as follows:

1. Different definitions

[Static balance] Correction and balance on a correction surface of the rotor, and the residual unbalance after correction to ensure that the rotor is within the specified range of allowable unbalance when it is static. It is static balance and is also called single-sided balance.

[Dynamic balance] Simultaneous correction and balance are performed on the two correction surfaces of the rotor, and the residual unbalance after correction is to ensure that the rotor is in the specified range of the allowable unbalance when it is dynamic. It is dynamic balance and is also called double-sided balance.

2. The focus is different

Static balance is weight balance, which means that the weights of the two propellers must be the same.

Dynamic balance is gravity distance balance, which means that the center of gravity of the two propellers must be the same.

3. Modern dynamic balancing technology

There are many balancing methods used by various machines. For example, one-sided balance (also known as static balance) often uses balance frames, and two-sided balance (also known as dynamic balance) uses various dynamic balance testing machines.
